COMMIS

A gamified recipe app designed by Sophia Xu, Yolanda He, Jooyeon Cho and me.

We are trying to answer the question "How do we make the learning experience more fun

We came up with 3 user personas for the users we wanted to design for.
They were all different people with beginner-level cooking skills who now found themselves in a situation where they have to cook.

We started our process by making journey maps of the cooking process. We then made a second journey map focusing in more on a smaller section of the process.

We used the journey map to focus in on the key features we wanted Commis to have and ranked them based on priority. We also came up with a structure that later translated to how we organized the different features into pages.

Finally, we started working on the actual app screens. We split up and came up with quick sketches of what we imagined the skeleton layer of our app looking like. We then came together and shared our ideas and identified things we liked.

Next, we worked collaboratively on Figma to make basic app screens and a clickable prototype.

After refining our skeleton layer, we moved on to the surface design. We came up with the following logo, color palette, and font guide.

Our final prototype was made using Invision.
