Duration

2 weeks

Main skills

- Paper Prototyping

- Persona

- User Journey Map

- User Testing

- Balsamiq

- Figma

My contribution

- Created the Persona, User Journey Map and structure with inputs

- Co-created wireframes

- Refined wireframes for user testing

- Co-created the final screens

Challenge

We started this project by picking a startup to design an app for. My team picked 'LineLeap' and started our journey of designing a variation of Open Table for bars, allowing bar goers to reserve their spot and pre order drinks.

Persona

As we created our persona, we realised that for People like Jasmine, safety was a major concern. While they loved going

User Journey Map

Making the user journey map showed us that co-ordinating plans with friends and splitting payments were other pain points for our users.

Structure

I created a quick list organising the different pages we were going to be working on and specifying different features those pages would have.

Wireframes

We each created the initial wireframes using paper templates (I created the third set shown below). I refined them using Balsamiq. This allowed all of us to share our vision of the app with the others and to choose which screens we wanted to focus on.

User Testing

We created higher fidelity designs using Figma and shared them to receive some feedback. You can see our user testing videos here.

Based on the feedback, we modified the color palette, added coupons and discounts, and increased the size of the text and buttons. I also added the payment screens which we had previously not created.

Surface design

After trying several variations, we reached a consensus on our modified color palette and logo. We used this to create our final designs.

Final screens

These were the final screens we created in the 2 weeks we worked on this app. If I were to work on this project today, I would have liked to emphasise the safety aspect of this project more as well as make the screens to preorder drinks more engaging. But, I think we covered the most important features.
